Šį penktadienį, birželio 6d., 19 val., „Medūza“ su džiaugsmu kviečia į danų menininkės Christine Dahlerup parodos „The Moon“ atidarymą. Parodoje menininkė pristatys naujus darbus, kuriuose mąstoma apie sąmonę, subjektyvią patirtį ir medijuotą tikrovę. Pasak parodos kuratoriaus Post Brothers, šio projekto gija prasidėjo kaip Christine susidomėjimo mirtimi - kaip kultūriniu simboliu, fenomenu, nerimo ir neišvengiamybės ženklu - išplėtimas, tačiau dabar ji įgavo kitą faktūrą, kuri šiuos svarstymus susieja su labiau koncentruotomis temomis.
Parodą menininkė pristato citata iš Virginios Woolf 1927 m. kūrinio „Į švyturį“:
„But the picture was not of them, she said. Or, not in his sense. There were other senses, too, in which one might reverence them. By a shadow here and a light there, for instance. Her tribute took that form, if, as she vaguely supposed, a picture must be a tribute. A mother and child might be reduced to a shadow without irreverence. A light here required a shadow there. He considered. He was interested. He took it scientifically in complete good faith. The truth was that all his prejudices were on the other side, he explained. The largest picture in his drawing-room, which painters had praised, and valued at a higher price than he had given for it, was of the cherry trees in blossom on the banks of the Kennet. He had spent his honeymoon on the banks of the Kennet, he said. Lily must come and see that picture, he said.“

Christine Dahlerup (g. 1997 m., Danija) gyvena ir dirba Kopenhagoje ir Vienoje. Kurdama skulptūras, instaliacijas, tekstus ir vaizdus, Dahlerup mąsto apie formą, tarpininkavimą ir žiūrovą. Tyrinėdama, kaip konstruojami naratyvai apie visuomenę, ji gilinasi į mūsų santykį su plokštuma ir tuo, kas yra įrėminta. Užimama erdvė tikrina meno istorijos diskurso „svarumą“ ir nagrinėja vaizdo bei matymo savybes.
Dahlerup 2024 m. įgijo magistro laipsnį Skulptūros mokykloje / Danijos karališkojoje dailės akademijoje ir studijavo Vienos dailės akademijoje pas profesorę Norą Schultz. Ji yra surengusi parodų Kopenhagoje, Osle, Vienoje, Bregence, Prahoje, Frankfurte prie Maino, Karlsrūjėje ir Hamburge, yra parodų erdvės „Salon 75“ (DK) bendrakuratorė.
Christine Dahlerup parodą „The Moon“ remia Danijos menų fondas ir Lietuvos kultūros taryba. Parodą bus galima aplankyti iki liepos 9 d.

This Friday, 6 June at 7pm, “Medūza” is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition “The Moon” by Danish artist Christine Dahlerup. In the exhibition, the artist will present new works that reflect on consciousness, subjective experience and mediated reality. According to Post Brothers, the curator of the exhibition, the show started an expansion of Christine’s ongoing interest in death–as a cultural symbol, phenomena, anxiety, and impending reality–but has now taken on another texture, which connects these considerations to more focused themes.
The show is presented with a quote from Virginia Woolf’s “To the Lighthouse” (1927):
“But the picture was not of them, she said. Or, not in his sense. There were other senses, too, in which one might reverence them. By a shadow here and a light there, for instance. Her tribute took that form, if, as she vaguely supposed, a picture must be a tribute. A mother and child might be reduced to a shadow without irreverence. A light here required a shadow there. He considered. He was interested. He took it scientifically in complete good faith. The truth was that all his prejudices were on the other side, he explained. The largest picture in his drawing-room, which painters had praised, and valued at a higher price than he had given for it, was of the cherry trees in blossom on the banks of the Kennet. He had spent his honeymoon on the banks of the Kennet, he said. Lily must come and see that picture, he said.”
About the artist:
Christine Dahlerup (b. 1997, DK), lives and works in Copenhagen and Vienna. In her work with sculpture, installation, text and images, Dahlerup thinks with form, mediation and spectatorship. Exploring how narratives about society are constructed, she has an interest in how we engage with flatness and what is framed. The space occupied tests the ‘weightiness’ of art historical discourse and examines the properties of image and vision.
Dahlerup obtained an MFA from The School of Sculpture / The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2024 and studied with professor Nora Schultz at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She has exhibited in Copenhagen, Oslo, Vienna, Bregenz, Prague, Frankfurt am Main, Karlsruhe and Hamburg and has co-curated the exhibition space Salon 75 (DK).
Christine Dahlerup’s exhibition “The Moon” is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation and the Lithuanian Council for Culture. The exhibition will be open until 9 July.
